CBSE typically releases Class 10 and 12 results in May. In 2023, results were declared on May 12. The exact date for 2024 will be announced on the official CBSE website. Students are advised to regularly check the CBSE results portal once exams conclude.
Students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject as well as in aggregate to pass CBSE board examinations. For subjects with practicals, students need 33% in both theory and practical separately. There is no overall division system in CBSE.
CBSE offers verification of marks, photocopy of answer sheets, and re-evaluation facilities. Students must apply through their schools within the specified timeframe (usually 3-4 weeks after result declaration) with the required fee. Detailed instructions are available on the CBSE website when results are announced.
Students who fail in one or two subjects can appear for compartment exams usually conducted in July. If a student fails in more than two subjects, they must repeat the entire year. Compartment exam results are typically declared within 6-8 weeks after the exams.
